2024 Success Stories - First year
Our mission is to ensure every cat and dog has a safe, happy, and healthy life through direct animal care and community engagement programs focused on promoting animal welfare and fostering a thriving, compassionate community.
Founded in July 2024, our nonprofit has made an incredible impact in just a few months. Within six months of operations - We’ve fostered and rescued numerous cats and dogs, while also providing food supplies to the City of Palacios and locals caring for stray animals. Through our successful efforts in trapping, spaying, and neutering stray cats, many have found loving homes or been safely placed at the City of Palacios center.
In addition to the animals we've helped, over 20 volunteers have generously given their time to help us get this nonprofit up and running. Their dedication has been invaluable in establishing our presence and growing our impact. We’ve worked hard to develop strong relationships with the community and the City of Palacios, building trust and collaboration every step of the way.
We have built a lasting and amazing relationship with the City of Palacios and the Animal Care Services. We are working daily with them to help our community and the animals in that area.
In October, we participated in the Palacios Seafood Festival, raising funds for our no-kill shelter initiative by selling local artwork. We are committed to providing resources that support both animals and our local community. We invite you to explore some of our heartwarming success stories below as we continue to work toward a brighter future for animals in need.
Our dedicated volunteers and members of our Board of Directors engaged with the local community, sharing details about our no-kill shelter initiative and raising awareness and funds for the cause. Thanks to the community's generosity, we received several hundred dollars in donations. We are deeply grateful for their support and enthusiasm in helping us make a difference. Special thanks to our Director Nancy Woods who coordinated this event.
We made the front page of the local newspaper: City partners with local animal welfare nonprofits for TNR & No-Kill Shelter
We’re dedicated to supporting the efforts to feed the local cats in the Palacios area who have been abandoned or in one of the Trap, Neuter, Release (TRN) areas. Many residents generously use their own funds, often from limited retirement incomes, to care for these cats. Being part of this initiative has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Your donations have made a meaningful difference, and they are deeply appreciated by both the caregivers and the cats they help nurture.
We have also helped trap and have funded several spay/nurturing efforts within the local community.
Milo’s Story
Milo was rescued from Palacios, Texas, in January. When he was found, he was thin, infested with fleas, and suffering from worms. The homeowner revealed that Milo's siblings had either been eaten under the porch or had vanished, and he lacked the resources to care for Milo. Fortunately, Milo was rescued and now enjoys a loving home in San Marcos, Texas.
