  • Jess Wade brings extensive experience across diverse roles, including systems analysis, research, statistics, and project management. With a strong background in data analysis, resource coordination, and developing systems tailored to organizational needs, she is driven by a passion for solving complex problems and delivering impactful solutions to animal welfare initiatives. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jess now serves as a SQL developer and systems analyst. Her deep love for animals has inspired her to dedicate her time and expertise to ensuring that every cat and dog has the opportunity for a better life. As President of the animal welfare nonprofit, Jess provides visionary leadership and strategic direction, guiding the organization toward its mission of improving the lives of animals in need.

  • Nancy Woods has always had a deep connection with animals.  Growing up in a bustling household filled with cats, dogs, birds, bunnies, turtles, guinea pigs and hamsters, Nancy learned from an early age the value of compassion, responsibility and the joy that animals bring to life.  Each pet was not just a companion but a teacher, shaping Nancy’s understanding of kindness and care. Her  love for animals evolved into a desire to give back to the community.  Volunteering and organizing fundraisers to create a better world for both people and animals. Beyond working with animals, Nancy is passionate about fostering a sense of togetherness in the community.  Whether it’s through hosting events, supporting local initiatives, or mentoring young people, Nancy strives to make the world a more compassionate place. One small act of kindness at a time.

  • Abby Black, a Texas native, grew up surrounded by a variety of animals, thanks to her parents who encouraged her love for caring for them. Her passion is to help others, especially young people, discover that same enthusiasm. One of her personal goals is to make friends with all cats. Outside of her mission to help dogs and cats find loving homes, Abby enjoys swimming, reading, and crocheting.

    With several years of experience as a graduate program coordinator, she has a proven track record in higher education. Her expertise includes research design, curriculum assessment, and academic advising. Additionally, Abby is a small business owner and, in her free time, enjoys indulging in arts and crafts, particularly crochet.

  • Jay Wade brings extensive experience as an information technology professional and military veteran with over six years in technical roles. His expertise spans computer information systems, network administration, cybersecurity, project management, quality assurance, and business administration. Jay has a proven ability to manage tasks, implement technological solutions, and oversee system enhancements and modifications. With a strong background in data compilation, advanced research, and program performance evaluation, Jay provides critical insights to leadership for process improvement and operational enhancements. His financial acumen includes developing budgets, resource plans, and detailed financial reports to ensure proper allocation of funds and resources. Additionally, he has experience forecasting financial projections and meeting financial objectives through efficient collection, accounting, and resource management. His leadership and attention to detail ensure financial accountability and transparency within the organization. As Treasurer of the animal welfare nonprofit, Jay leverages his expertise to oversee financial operations, develop sustainable budgets, and allocate resources effectively to support the organization’s mission of improving the lives of animals in need.

  • Kristen Kevitch is originally from the east coast, she holds a degree in Marine Science. Her passion for animal rescue has been a significant part of her life since college. She has gained valuable experience volunteering at various shelters, where she has walked dogs and helped care for animals in need. In addition to her shelter work, she also fosters animals from Palacios Animal Care Services, providing them with a loving and safe environment while they await their forever homes. Outside of her rescue work, Kristen enjoys staying active, whether it’s hiking, biking, skiing, or engaging in any outdoor activity.
